On Thursday, January 24, the Florida Recycling Partnership, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Keep Florida Beautiful and other recycling stakeholders will gather in the State Capitol to remind everyone to recycle.
There will be a launch of the new Wrap Recycling Action Program (WRAP) initiative in Florida. This innovative program is designed to boost plastic bag and film recycling, increase demand for recycled plastics and provide education on how plastic film recycling can benefit Florida’s communities. As of this date, Alachua, Indian River, Leon, Miami-Dade, Orange, and Seminole Counties have agreed to be part of the launch along with the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach, Emerald Coast Unities Authority, the City of Jacksonville and the City of Tampa.
Also, the Department will present a Recycling Recognition Award to Northrup Grumman for its recycling efforts.
Recycling educational displays from more than 10 statewide companies and organizations will be viewable from 9:00 am until noon on the second floor of the Capitol and the Florida Beverage Association members will offer a beverage tasting.
Other participants in Florida Recycles Day at the Capitol include Waste Management; Florida Beverage Association; Technology Conservation Group; Florida Ports Council; Florida Goodwill Association; WestRock; Keep Florida Beautiful; Recycle Florida Today; NOVOLEX; Southern Waste Information Exchange (SWIX), the National Waste & Recycling Association – FL Chapter and Florida Recycling Partnership.
The Florida Recycling Partnership is a coalition of leading Florida companies and associations with the mission to educate policymakers, business leaders and the general public about the benefits of recycling.
