Free drive-thru food distribution at Port of Palm Beach
The Port of Palm Beach has partnered with Hospitality Helping Hands and Feeding South Florida to offer free drive-thru food distribution events on Saturdays at the Port of Palm Beach. The Port became involved following a request by Port Commissioner Katherine Waldron at the last Board of Commissioners meeting on May 21st.
The Port of Palm Beach has become the new drive-through food distribution site for nonprofits Hospitality Helping Hands and Feeding South Florida. More than 4,000 families, who are still struggling to stay afloat during the COVID-19 outbreak, have received foods and dry goods.
The events are held on Saturdays from 3PM-6PM. The drivers are staged behind he Southgate Facility.
Port Commissioner and Vice Chairman Joseph Anderson and Port Commissioner Katherine Waldron are among those who have attended the food distributions. Several Port employees have also volunteered.

The nonprofits are always looking for volunteers. You can sign up by contacting Hospitality Helping Hands and Feeding South Florida.
“The entire community has been coming out to help one another during this difficult time. Whatever the Port and Port Commissioners can do, we are trying to do. Our effort to provide port space for the nonprofits working together to feed those in dire need, allows us to help our fellow citizens who are experiencing financial hardships during the COVID-19 crisis. We are proud to be working with Hospitality Helping Hands and Feeding South Florida,” Commissioner Waldron said.
The first event at the Port is scheduled for tomorrow, May 30th from 3 PM to 6 PM.
Organizers, volunteers and people picking up food will enter through the Port entrance on the west side of Broadway/US-1, just south of the Sky Pass Bridge. The address is 301 Broadway Avenue, Riviera Beach, FL. 33404.
Everyone will exit on Access Road near the FP&L power plant.
In preparation for the event, Port tenant, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, provided warehouse space for Hospitality Helping Hands to store donated goods including 60,000 diapers, water, soda and muscle milk, that were delivered to the port this afternoon.
