Join Enterprise Florida for an Export Sales Mission to Colombia. Colombia is the fourth-largest economy in Latin America and has the third-largest population in the region with approximately 49 million citizens. Since the implementation of the U.S.-Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement in May 2012, U.S. and Florida exporters have seen tariffs eliminated on over 80 percent of consumer and industrial goods exports to the country.

Colombia holds vast opportunities for Florida companies interested in increasing their footprint in this market. The Colombian economy grew, on average, by 4.3 percent from 2010 to 2016, and by 1.8 percent in 2017 – more than the average growth for Latin America and the Caribbean. The U.S. is Colombia’s largest trading partner, and bilateral trade between the two countries reached nearly $27 billion in 2017. With $7.2 billion in two-way trade, Florida accounts for 27 percent of all U.S. trade with Colombia – more than any other state. With nearly $4.2 billion of merchandise shipped in 2017 – and growing by nearly seven percent in 2018 – Colombia ranks as Florida’s second-largest export market.

Trade Grants Available
EFI will offer a limited number of Gold Key Service Packages (one-on-one appointments) through the USCS to qualified Florida companies. Companies who qualify for the Gold Key as a “small business” based on SBA size standards may qualify for a Gold Key Grant from Enterprise Florida. The grant will reimburse 100% of the Gold Key Package Registration fee for the first company representative. A separate online application will be provided to companies once they are approved by the USCS and EFI for the Gold Key Package as a small business to determine if they qualify for the grant.
