TALLAHASSEE, FL. (May 5, 2015) – Today, Governor Rick Scott and members of the Florida Cabinet presented a resolution recognizing May 2015 as Florida World Trade Month. The Florida Ports Council along with the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise Florida, the Florida Manufacturing Association and other trade partners were there to accept the recognition.
International trade is critical not only for Florida’s overall economy but for individual families and communities across the state, as well as visiting consumers. Increasing trade creates jobs and brings a better quality of life to our state, said Doug Wheeler, president and CEO of the Florida Ports Council.
The Florida Ports Council and other partners will be focusing on international trade and its impact on Florida and the U.S throughout the month of May on Facebook and Twitter. In addition, the website FloridaWorldTradeMonth.com has a listing of international trade events being hosted throughout Florida during the month.
