TALLAHASSEE, FL – Florida Ports Council President and CEO, Doug Wheeler, and the Council’s environmental consultant, Jeff Littlejohn, from Littlejohn, Mann & Associates,  joined other industry leaders at the Florida Chamber of Commerce today for an open, candid business roundtable with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Administrator Trey Glenn.

The roundtable allowed Glenn to share the Administration’s ongoing efforts and priorities and solicit feedback from the regulated community. Key points of interest included an overview of some of the positive changes occurring at the EPA and their focus on the protection of clean air, water and land through a cooperative approach between federal and state governments that will not overburden businesses.

“Florida is at the epicenter of striking a balance between protecting natural resources and growing the economy,” Wheeler said. “The fact that they are listening to industry and seeking solutions is a reflection of their commitment to protecting Florida’s interests.”
