Florida Ports Council Hosts Spring Board Meeting and Legislative Reception

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 25, 2019) – Members of the Florida Ports Council’s Board of Directors travel to Tallahassee today to attend FPC’s Spring meeting. FPC will host the meeting over the span of two days, Tuesday, March 26th and Wednesday, March 27th, as well as a Legislative Reception on Tuesday evening.

The Florida Ports Council is the professional association of Florida’s 14 public seaports providing advocacy, leadership and research on seaport-related issues before state and federal government.

Guest speakers for the meeting include the Secretary of the Florida Department of Transportation, Kevin Thibault, Enterprise Florida’s President and CEO, Jamal Sowell and the Executive Director of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Ken Lawson.

“We have an engaged and proactive Board of Directors, and they promote a collective voice in the areas of state and federal advocacy, data and research and marketing and communication,” said Doug Wheeler, president and CEO of the Florida Ports Council. “Collaboration from port leadership and our state agency partners is essential to our seaports’ role as an economic driver for the state and a key player in the global marketplace.”
