The Florida Ports Council is excited to welcome the worldwide automobile company, Volkswagen, to Florida as they will be moving their automobile import shipping from Georgia to JAXPORT in Jacksonville, Florida.

“Businesses are recognizing that Florida’s ports provide a more cost-effective option and a better overall business environment than many of our competitors,” said Doug Wheeler, president and CEO of the Florida Ports Council. “The influx of global companies to Florida is a direct result of the commitment and focus of Governor Scott, the Florida Department of Transportation, Enterprise Florida, Inc., and the Florida Legislature in investing in freight infrastructure in our state. Florida’s economy is growing and Florida’s ports are doing everything they can to attract international trade, which will continue to build on that growth.”
