Jonathan Daniels to Lead Maryland Port Administration

Port Everglades Port Director Jonathan Daniels is stepping down from the Broward County port, and stepping in as the new executive director of the Maryland Port Administration, Maryland Transportation Secretary Paul J. Wiedefeld recently announced.

During his time at Port Everglades, Daniels led a $3 billion plan to expand lines of business in containers, energy and cruise activity. Port Everglades has an economic impact of $33 billion and is the 13th-busiest container port in the U.S., the busiest energy port in Florida and the third-busiest cruise home port in the world.

Daniels also served as Chair of the Florida Ports Council from 2021-2022. He’ll take the helm at the MPA in February.
