Lawmakers Begin Prep Work for 2022 Session
Lawmakers are back in Tallahassee and holding interim committee week meetings in their efforts to gear up for the January 11, 2022 start of Legislative Session.
The Florida Department of Transportation has provided lawmakers with updates on agency efforts, but specific budgetary details – including Governor Ron DeSantis’s proposed budget recommendations – have not yet been released.
In late September, Florida Ports Council Chair and Port Everglades Chief Executive and Port Director Jonathan Daniels, along with JAXPORT Chief Executive Officer Eric Green and Florida Ports Council President and CEO Mike Rubin, met with Governor DeSantis’ leadership to discuss latest activities with Florida’s 15 seaports.
