Port Putnam Approves Warehouse Leasing Agreement

The Putnam County Port Authority recently approved a warehouse and port facilities lease agreement with Victoria Marine, a St. Augustine-based marine company. Victoria Marine, which manufactures ships, will lease a 20,000-square-foot warehouse, and have port docking and bulkhead access.

Additionally, Victoria Marine is partnering with Putnam County School District to hire local high school graduates from the district’s welding program.

One of the upcoming projects that Victoria Marine includes working with a client to build a vessel to help revitalize the Florida Everglades. Despite the company’s usage, the port’s proposed development is not expected to be impacted, according to Port Manager Sam Sullivan.

County and state representatives have been working for a few years to revitalize and develop the port in the hopes it can be expanded.

As part of its ship manufacturing efforts, Victoria Marine will be hiring local high school graduates
