TITUSVILLE, Fla. – The Maritime and Port Security Information Sharing and Analysis Organization, Inc. (MPS-ISAO), a private sector-led non-profit organization advancing global Maritime and Port Critical Infrastructure cyber resilience via sharing of cybersecurity threat intelligence and defensive measures, celebrated their first Service anniversary with a 2019 CSO50 award. IDG’s CSO, the premier security media brand providing insight into business risk leadership, announced on October 29th the 2019 winners who delivered business value and demonstrated thought leadership.
The MPS-ISAO, a member of the International Association of Certified ISAOs, shares this award with the Maritime and Port sector, customers, advisors, and strategic partners. Christy Coffey, Executive VP of Operations for the MPS-ISAO explains, “While the MPS-ISAO offers Cybersecurity Intelligence Information Sharing as a Service, we have adopted a community-driven approach to cyber resilience.”
As the ISAO for the nation’s Maritime and Port Critical infrastructure, the MPS-ISAO provides a globally trusted and secure collaborative technology infrastructure to operationalize and sustain cyber resilience via greater information sharing of public and private sector and cross-sector threat intelligence and countermeasure solutions supported by coordinated response and adoption of best practice.
The MPS-ISAO recently completed their first year of Services. A major highlight from this first year included being chosen by the Florida Seaport Transportation and Economic Development Council (FSTED) to provide critical cybersecurity Alerts and Services to all 14 Florida Ports as part of their Common Operational Picture (COP) platform, CommandBridge. In addition, the MPS-ISAO recently added new maritime and rail subject matter experts to their Leadership Advisory Board, co-hosted a Cybersecurity Training event with the Port of New Orleans, expanded their threat intelligence production capabilities, and forged a partnership with the Defense Industrial Base ISAC (DIB-ISAC), and the new Public Safety ISAO.
Coffey continues, “We learned so much this past year, and have a solid foundation beneath us. As we pivot, 2019 is expected to be a year of significant growth – customers, intelligence, technological capabilities, and public and private sector partnerships. Recent maritime cybersecurity incidents reinforce our commitment to protecting this sector, and the CSO50 Award is a wonderful way to top-off a successful first year.”
