New Port Infrastructure Development Program Funding

An appropriations omnibus bill passed by Congress on February 14 includes a new $293 million port infrastructure development grant program in MARAD, funding for 600 additional CBP officers, $100 million for port security grants, and $87 million for DERA grants. See the most pertinent pages of the bill on the Port Infrastructure Development Program here. The Florida Ports Council is hopeful Fran Bohnsack from MARAD will be able to join us in Tallahassee in March to discuss the implementation of the new port infrastructure program.
